TRADITIONAL EVENTS (TEs)
Off to Visit the Ships in Port Hueneme!
It's road trip time again, Volksmarchers!! The Central Coast Beach Boardwalkers are hosting a month-end Group Walk in Port Hueneme, at the southern end of our walking territory, on Saturday, February 29th (Happy Leap Day!), and it will be a wonderful time to enjoy some beautiful coastal views and some fresh ocean air! Plus, this will be a great chance to renew that Fitness New Year's Resolution!
Our walk starts at the CVS Pharmacy at 581 W Channel Islands Blvd in Port Hueneme. Both the 5K and the 10K enjoy the beautiful Channel Islands Harbor, with the 10K having extended coastal views along the Promenade. Registration for the walk is open from 8:00 am until 11:00 am, with the walk needing to be complete by 2:00 pm.
Want to find out more about volksmarching and our walking club? Come to our club meeting on Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 pm at Giavanni's Pizza in Orcutt. We'll share all the Fun about walking for Fitness and Friendship!
If you'd like to meet up with other walkers, arrive around 8:45 am and group walks will depart around 9:00. The walk costs just $3.00, with no additional charge for Volksmarching credit! Of course, donations to our non-profit club are always graciously accepted!
Get out into the beautiful Central Coast weather and join the Beach Boardwalkers for some Fun, Fitness, and Friendship! We look forward to seeing you on Leap Day, February 29th!

Beach Boardwalkers Give Back
The Central Coast Beach Boardwalkers value the American Volkssport Association ideals of Fun, Fitness, and Friendship. We look forward to meeting many new friends on the trails! But we would like to do just a little bit more: we want to leave our walks just a little bit better than they were when we got there. The CCBB has invested in a set of Litter Pickers (the extended-reach claws that allow trash to be picked up without bending over) and trash bags. These supplies will be available at every Group Walk, and will be available to anyone wanting to collect a few pieces of trash along the route. The fastest walkers will pick up some and leave others, and the next walkers will pick up a few more. This 100% voluntary program is not associated with any philanthropic cause; we just want to make our little corner of the world a bit better as we go. Any suggestions or improvements to this program are warmly accepted, and we look forward to making this a long-lasting tradition!
Yay for Motivated Members!
